The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has cleared OUP’s acquisition of Nelson Thornes. Following a four month review, OFT said it has decided on the information currently available to it not to refer the acquisition to the Competition Commission under the provisions of the Enterprise Act 2002.

Sanoma Learning, the education business of the Helsinki-based media company, Sanoma Corporation, has reported an adjusted operating loss of EUR 4.4m (2012: EUR 15.0m loss) for the first quarter ended 31 March 2013, on revenue from continuing operations up 34% to EUR 45.7m (2012: EUR 34.2m).
