Following its recent comments about ‘returning to growth’ in the UK education market, Sodexo has signed an initial three-year agreement with Milton Keynes Council to provide hot meals in the city’s 73 primary schools and nine day nurseries, taking over the employment of 148 staff. The deal is worth over £6m in total turnover.

Elsewhere in the sector post-Jamie Oliver: Scolarest owner Compass Group plc has recently reported that the education sector has stabilized; Rentokill Initial has along with Scolarest and Sodexo exited from a number of unprofitable schools contracts and, following new contract wins, now expects better margins.
