Following KKR’s acquisition of Northgate, Civica, the software services company which won two ICT BSF contracts last year (Sheffield and Essex) is also set to be taken private, in a deal that values the company at £190m. In the year ending 30 September 2007 Civica had revenues of £126.9m (EBIT = £8.23m) of which £9.6m was derived from activities within the education sector. The offer is backed by 3i, the private equity group.
