  Pearson acquires Connections Education for $400m

Pearson has acquired Connections Education, the virtual schools company for $400m in cash from an investor group led by Apollo Management LP. Through its Connections Academy business, the Baltimore-based company operates online public schools in 21 states in the US - serving more than 40,000 students in the current school year.
