Blackboard continues to expand away from its core platform business. Last month it announced a partnership with MyLearningPlan – a web-based service used by schools to plan, manage, and evaluate their professional development programmes. MyLearningPlan will become an integrated component of Blackboard’s Educator Central product which helps US school districts to manage, deliver and evaluate professional development.

In the UK a similar web-based product – Blue Sky – is provided by Guildford-based Atkey Solutions.
