Kent BSF announcement
The Land Securities Trillium consortia has been appointed as the preferred bidder for the first phase of Kent County Council’s £600m BSF programme. The consortia consists of Land Securities Trillium, Northgate Information Systems, Kier and Partnerships for Schools (via Building Schools for the Future investments). This is the first Local Education partnership (LEP) formed by Kent, who have also publicly said that they hope to form two further LEPs as part of their ongoing BSF programme.

Leicester reach financial close
Leicester County Council have reached a financial close on their £325m BSF programme with the Miller Consortium (which includes GLS and Northgate Information Systems).

VT close in Lewisham
VT Group has finalised its second BSF with the London Borough of Lewisham. This deal will see a LEP formed between VT Education and Skills and the Costain Group (trading as the Learning21 consortium). Costain will build two new secondary schools and VT will provide the FM and IT services. The deal is worth £120m to VT in the initial phase but in additional BSF phases may generate up to £300m for VT over the next 25 years.
