RM has purchased SEN supplier SpaceKraft for £3.95m. SpaceKraft will continue to be run as a standalone business but under RM’s TTS supplies business. This is an interesting move and fits in with RM’s stated intention to build the educational resources side of its business.
We have also heard a whisper about a new social networking product for schools that RM have developed in conjunction with their subsidiary Softease. About all we can tell you right now is that it’s called Honeycomb and we expect RM will launch it at BETT 2008. Softease has some form in the web 2.0 environment with its successful podcasting product Podium, so what they do in terms of social networking software will be interesting to see.
