The new owners of Thomson Learning (OMERS and Apax Capital partners) have decided to rename the company Cengage Learning. Cengage is a hybrid word which is supposed to express the idea that this entity is the centre of engagement – whether this is for customers or the deal’s VC backers is not disclosed. It’s an interesting concept, but expanding on the theme of synthetic words, we think the new name is Bulhit!
