If BSF is so important why is the DfES offering just £66k for the position of Head of BSF? Last month we reported that P4S was offering £60k plus a bonus and benefits for an Executive Assistant to CEO Tim Byles. The advertisement also promises ,‘skills-based recruitment pay’ of up to £5000, with performance-related progression and excellent pension options’. In normal language that would be a £5k signing on bonus, some OTE or target bonus and the possibility of a civil service pension (unlikely to be final salary). Not bad, but smart candidates will be looking for jobs at P4S or amongst consortia companies like Balfour Beatty Capital who have taken out large advertisements to recruit Bid Managers.
