March saw the launch of a London campus of Malaysia’s Limkokwing University. While foreign campuses are not new to London or the UK, this is the first Asian institution to open in the UK. To date, the globalisation of education has seen institutions from first world countries moving into third, second and emerging first world nations, particularly in Asia, India and China. As the educational offerings in these countries have evolved, and quite rapidly, we are now seeing the beginning of a reversal of the trend for students to flow from lesser-developed states to countries like the UK, US and Australia.
