Have UK companies like Oxford University Press, Hodder Headline and the BBC missed a new market for their language learning programmes? Last week Singapore Airlines and Berlitz announced they were launching Berlitz World Traveller, a series of 11 fully interactive language courses that will be delivered via Singapore’s KrisWorld inflight entertainment system.

If successful this new channel will give Berlitz and its owner Japan’s Benesse Corporation, the first strike advantage in a whole new market.
