A High Court writ over the development of the North Liverpool Academy on Dixie Dean playing fields has led to a delay and cost blow out. Due to open in September, construction has not even started on the new school, but costs have reportedly already blown out by £2m. One of the school’s joint sponsors Granada Learning is currently for sale and while their press office have confirmed the company’s commitment, will a new owner, particularly a venture capital investor, have the same enthusiasm for this venture?
