Pearson has now acquired National Evaluation Systems (NES), one of the major suppliers of teacher certification services in the US. Teacher certification is a growth business with an estimated 2.5m new teachers needed before 2010! Pearson spent £70m buying NES whose 2005 sales were US$73m (£40.9m).
