Pearson Education and BBC Worldwide have formed a partnership called BBC Active to publish BBC-branded educational content. Pearson Education will hold the majority stake in the new venture. The BBC will contribute by transferring its consumer, academic and English Language Teaching businesses to BBC Active.
It will be interesting to see if the proposed link between Teacher’s TV and BBC Jam (formerly the BBC Digital Curriculum) will also link with this new venture. This is particularly relevant because BBC Active will have first right of refusal to license learning market rights to all BBC properties where BBC Learning own these rights.
