Buried in the addenda of a press release about a report by the British Council called English Next was an interesting snippet about the British Council’s management of the Peacekeeping English Project. This has delivered English language teaching to over 51,000 military personnel in 30 countries - primarily in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The sponsors of the project are the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Ministry of Defence and it certainly shows the diversity of opportunities available to UK companies in this sector.
